About
I’ve been convinced for a long time that I should be keeping a journal. I’ve kept them in the past, but there are so many things that make it such in inconvenience. I have handwriting to terrible that no one (not even I) can read it. I usually say things wrong the first time I try to type them out, so I like to be able to change or restate them. Most things in my life aren’t very interesting, especially the secret things that no one else are supposed to read. Going back and trying to read them now just bores me out of my mind.
I decided the best option then is to keep a blog of sorts. It’s not intended for consumption for the general public, but I really don’t mind it being consumed. It is mostly to get my own thoughts out of my head in a coherent manner.
I don’t, nor have I ever, had any interest in reading blogs or frequenting places like MySpace or facebook. I just don’t understand people’s fascination with reading about other random people’s ideas. My friend says we should all be reading blogs,
Because it is a way of making sense of this mortal experience. We are social creatures and we depend on collective learning to understand life. One of the most difficult aspects of making sense of life is learning to adopt an objective viewpoint, to see things as they really are. Blogs help us to do this because it allows us to see life through another person’s eyes and hence overcome subjectivity to some degree.
Christian, you’re a dork. Also, you need to start spending time away from your wife because you’re getting waaaaaay too happy and optimistic.
