Dating and Marriage

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

A few days ago I decided that I’m not going to make jokes about being desperate to date or get married. I’ve been doing it for years, and it is honestly starting to annoy me now as much as everyone else. A day or so later I was given a great opportunity to test my conviction, and I learned something very important.

I’ve been joking about marriage and dating for so long that I can no longer control myself. I have joked myself into dysfunction.

No wonder I can’t get a date…

Coupons and Chicken Sandwiches

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

Today I went to use a chic-fil-a coupon I got for free, while I was driving around today recording GPS coordinates for work. I hadn’t been planning on it, but I realized I had a coupon in my car. I went through the drivethrough, and I told them I had a coupon for a free chicken sandwich. The guy took the coupon and waved me to the next window, where I got my chicken sandwich, which I then proceeded to eat and enjoy. When I got back to the office, I looked down and noticed a Wendy’s bag. In my distracted state, I had gone to Wendy’s, and used a Chic-fil-a coupon to get a free chicken sandwich.

There are three important lessons to take from this:

  1. Other people are at least as dumb as me.
  2. Chic-fil-a coupons can be used as a form of currency.
  3. In the end, even if you got a chicken sandwhich from the wrong place, you still got what you wanted so be happy.

I really like chicken sandwiches.
