The Lost Diary of a Pregnant Teen

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

I finally have the new project that I mentioned up and running.  My roommates and I found a diary of a 16 year old pregnant girl in the trash.  I think it’s interesting, so I’ve decided to transcribe it into some blog software.  The dates and such will match up, so you can see when and how it was written.  You can read it over at Diary of Children.

Finally installed some blog software

Monday, June 19th, 2006

Well, I’ve finally gotten around to installing some blog software so that I can take advantage of all of the fancy automatic page generation for posts and RSS/ATOM feeds. I got a lot of requests from people back when I was doing the Orange Man Project for some sort of RSS feed so that they could automatically see when an update was made. But making one by hand was a little more trouble than I wanted to deal with, so I simply ignored the plights of the masses.

It’s pretty late at the moment, and I’m pretty tired, so all I’ve done is install the software, solve some minor problems, poke around at the options, read a few posts in the support forums, and start this post. Soon I hope to be able to change the theme slightly to include things that make it look not as generic as it does right now. Maybe I could even add some links and personalized information in the future? Eh, whatever.

I’ve had a few random projects come up that I wanted to post about, but having no where to easily post to, they were never let loose upon the world. But I have recently decided on a new project that is special enough to warrant the development of a whole new site. I’m not going to get into it now, but it involves a much more serious subject matter than I would normally deal with. Or think about. Or really even consider thinking about. In fact, it is completely inappropriate for a site like this. I guess it’s just a shame that it is going to go here then.

As a point, I expect to just use this site to projects, or links to projects that I start. The projects that I start are interesting to me, and for some reason there are people out there that also think they are interesting. Although, to be honest, the range of things I do is so broad that it is unlikely that anyone will find everything interesting. I’m going to guesstimate that people that find one article interesting are going to find about 30% of what I do interesting. The rest of it they will probably find either boring or inane. Having retrieved these numbers from the darkest, stinkiest recesses of my body, I am prepared to defend them to the death. Or until evidence is presented contrary. Death and evidence are the two best things to live for.
